Terms of Use

You must be at least 13 years old to use Tarang, and old enough under the law where you live to agree to these terms.

Accounts are created by signing in with Google, or with Apple on an iPhone. You are responsible for what happens under your account, and for keeping the Google or Apple account it depends on secure. Handles are first-come, and some are reserved. You can sign out or request deletion of your account from within the app.

You keep ownership of the photographs, captions, Talks and everything else you post. You give us permission to store, reproduce and display that content for the purpose of running the app — showing your posts in other people's feeds, on your profile, and on a page for a link you have shared.

That permission lasts as long as the content is on Tarang. Deleting a post ends it, with the practical exception that copies may persist briefly in backups and in caches we do not control.

• Content you do not have the rights to.
• Sexual content involving minors, in any form. This is reported, not just removed.
• Threats, harassment, or incitement to violence against a person or a group.
• Content that is illegal where you are, or where it is seen.
• Impersonation of another person, and misrepresentation of who is behind an account.
• Automated posting, scraping, or artificially inflating Waves, Talks or follows.

Every post can be reported, hidden, or its author blocked, from inside the app. We review reports and may remove content, restrict an account, or end access. We try to be proportionate and we will not always get it right; if you think we have made a mistake, write to us at the address below.

Tarang is in active development, and features may change or be removed. The app is provided as-is, without warranty. Do not use Tarang as the only place a photograph exists.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not run advertising. Time spent in the app is never used as a target for tuning the feed. How we handle your information is described in the privacy policy.

You can stop using Tarang at any time and delete your account from the app's settings. We may suspend or end access if these terms are broken, or if we stop operating the service.

We may update these terms. When we make a change that materially affects your rights, we will say so in the app rather than only changing the date at the top of this page.

These terms are governed by the laws of India.
